Rosebud Trip Coming in Early June!
It will soon be time to once again meet up with our friends at Indian Lutheran in Rosebud and God’s Warriors in Parmelee when we journey to the Rosebud Reservation on June 4-10. Half week trips will also be available for those who can’t stay the whole week. See the bulletin board across from the office for more details about costs and dates, and we will publish more information about what this year’s service projects will be and about available “scholarship” money as soon as it is available.

Adult Bible Study Takes “Roller Coaster Ride”
You get to join the disciples in the emotional roller coaster ride they took on the Mount of Transfiguration when we continue our study of “Stuff They Didn’t Teach Me in Sunday School” in Adult Bible Study. We will also learn what people thought of little children in Jesus’ day, and study how he handled the rich young man that came to him with an audacious question. Please join us in the fellowship hall for our fast paced journey through Mark’s gospel.

Breakfast Bible Study Learns Revelation’s
Symbolic Language
Many people find the book of Revelation to be both scary and hard to read. In this week’s Breakfast Bible Study we will see how this book was meant to be a book of hope and encouragement, and similar to the parables in style. Please join us on Monday, April 23rd at Bethany Meadows for our 9am brunch followed by an exploration of a book that is meant to give us a peek at God’s glory.

Men of Brandon Learn “Sheep Stink, God Saves”
Do you consider it flattering to be called one of God’s sheep? This week’s Men of Brandon Bible study looks at sheep from a new perspective as we begin our study of Psalm 80. Mark Buehner will serve as this week’s Bible study leader while Pastor Deardoff is attending the vicarage placement service for his son Carl at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Bring your best sheep story and join in the debate about what it means to be a sheep.

Lutheran Malaria Initiative Drive Continues
A child dies from malaria every 45 seconds in Africa. You can give a child a “first chance” at life by participating in the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. Lost week we distributed pill bottles to all the families in the congregation with the hope they would fill them with quarters and return them by April 29th. The ten dollars worth of quarters that each pill bottle will hold can provide a chemically treated bed net that can save a child’s life. Your compassionate response will be gratefully appreciated.

Confirmation Questioning/Reception on Wednesday
You are cordially invited by this years confirmation class to come to their questioning this Wednesday evening at 7pm where they will publicly confess their faith. You are also invited to the reception with light refreshments afterwards.

SR BRY Okoboji Work Weekend
For those planning to attend the work weekend on April 27 & April 28th - meet at Sandy Kreutner’s house (113 E Glenwood Drive Brandon, SD) at 6:30pm. The plan is to arrive back on Saturday late at night, around 11pm. Come and join us for a great day of service!

Loyalty Day Parade Float Volunteers Needed
Our thanks to the Kelzer family for volunteering to organize BRLC’s Loyalty Day Parade Float for Sunday, May 6th. Now we just need volunteers to help them! If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please sign up on the bulletin board.

Portals of Prayer are In!
Portals of prayer for April-June 2012 have arrived and are located on the shelf under the mailboxes in the narthex. Bring one home and partake in daily devotions!

Rummage/Yard Sale
This year’s rummage will be held on Thursday, May 3rd from 4pm-8pm and Friday, May 4th from 8am-7pm. Items may be dropped off in the church and stored in BRLC’s garage starting Sunday, April 15th. All clean, gently used items are appreciated. Proceeds from this year’s rummage sale will be used to:
* Support the 2013 National Youth Gathering
* Purchase supplies for Rosebud mission project
* Raise funds to help repair our parking lot.

 LCMS Camp & Rosebud Scholarships Available
The Blessed Redeemer Board of Youth offers Scholarships to help defray costs if your child is planning on attending a LCMS Church camp for a week this summer or is going on the Rosebud Mission Trip. Each student is limited to one scholarship per year. Below is a list of conditions that must be met in order to qualify for these scholarships.

CONFIRMATION QUESTIONING AND RECEPTION
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25 AT 7:00 PM
We have a great class of Confirmands this year. Like all Confirmands, they have put many hours into fulfilling the requirements necessary for confirmation. Confirmation is a very important milestone in the Confirmand 's faith life. We would like to invite everyone to support our Confirmands on their questioning night by attending the questioning and enjoying the reception following the questioning in the fellowship hall.

Reminder: High School Graduates
If you are graduating this year, please return the Graduate Reception questionnaire sent to you recently by the Youth Board. We need this information by the May 1 deadline so that we can proceed with planning the Graduate Reception being held on May 13, 2013. Thank you!

Spring Fling Brunch
All are invited to join in the Spring Fling Brunch on Saturday May 12th from 10am-12pm at Memorial in Sioux Falls. Prepare to laugh, cry and be wonderfully entertained as Jan Struck shares her journey of faith, making a joyful noise unto God. Treat yourself, your spouse, your mother, your daughter, your sister, and your friends. Everyone is welcome! Cost: $8 for adults and $4 for children 6-12.

Have you heard the good news? Jr K is coming to Blessed Redeemer!!!!!! If your child is ready for Kindergarten in 2013 this class is for you! Please let Miss Michelle know if you’re interested or if you have any questions. Spread the word!

Calling All Quilters or Craftsmen
Our congregation has been requested by Bethany Meadows to donate a quilt or fine woodworking item for their fundraiser this July 22nd. Even though we aren’t a member of the Bethany Foundation, our church council is calling for a volunteer or volunteers who has either quilting or woodworking skills to make an item to go for their “Bethany’s Best Event” to thank them for their generosity in using their facility for our Bible studies.

Lutheran High Golf Tournament
Lutheran High School of Sioux Falls is hosting a Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 2nd. If you are not a golfer but would like to be part of the Lutheran High Golf Tournament we invite you to share Golf Tournament prizes. Prizes might include restaurant gift certificates, sporting good gift certificates, cash donations, and more. If you would like to donate prizes for the Lutheran High Golf Tournament

Seminary Recruiter
Ever consider church work? Reverend John Dreyer is an Admission Counselor for the Fort Wayne Seminary.
