A Note from Miss Amy
March was a month full of so much fun activity in our classroom!! We began the month with a celebration of Dr.
Suess’ birthday by painting our own “One Fish, Two Fish” pictures using colored corn syrup….we loved getting sticky!! We also spent some time at the beginning of March talking a little about how we can take care of our
teeth. We spent lots of time learning all about how to brush, why we floss, and that going to the dentist is very good for us and that dentists are great community helpers!! We learned about many other wonderful community
helpers, too, as we explored all the people around us who work to take care of us!! We had lots of fun thinking about what we might want to do to help others when we grow up, too!! We ended March and will begin April learning more about the wonderful story of Easter. We will hear more of the story each day we go to chapel and explore the Resurrection Eggs. We will focus on the blessings God has given us, especially the blessing of forgiveness through the story of Easter!! We also look forward to exploring the beautiful world God created some more in April as we talk about some different parts of our world such as jungles and rain forests and the animals that live there!! We can’t wait!!
A Note from Miss Kami
Miss Kami's class is enjoying spring! It is so fun to see God's creations of green grass, birds and budding trees again. The kids have loved getting back outdoors to play and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. With spring comes Easter and we are learning about Easter by reading the book Benjamin's Box and finding hidden Resurrection Eggs each day during our chapel time. In each of the twelve eggs, is an item that helps explain Jesus' death and resurrection. The children look forward to finding out what is in their colored egg each day. When all the eggs have been collected, the students get to take home their own set of Resurrection Eggs. They then can tell the story of Easter to their family and friends. It is amazing how fast this school year is going. It is also amazing to watch the preschoolers as they continue to grow and learn. They are such a blessing to us! Happy Spring.
A Note from Miss Heather
Since God sent us such beautiful weather this month, we spent most of our gym time playing outside. It was
great to be able to get back out and play on the swings, on the slide, and in the sandbox! Our month started
out with us learning about books, especially one of our favorite authors, Dr. Seuss. The M-T-Th class got to
paint with our feet. This activity went along with the story "The Foot Book". It was messy, but so much fun!
Look for our feet hanging in the hallway outside of our classroom! We also had Silly Sock day. It was fun dressing in silly or mismatched socks! We also enjoyed learning about different careers this month. Some of the careers that we talked about were actors, artists, chefs, farmers, scuba divers, and astronauts. Many of the W-F girls wanted to be fairies, princesses, and ballerinas. Isn't is great to have dreams! The M-T-Th class enjoyed acting our some of their favorite fairy tales. Some of the students would be very good actors when they grow up! In chapel, we talked about Zaccheaus, the 10 men with leprosy, and other people that Jesus helped. We also began to talk about the Easter story. It was fun hunting for Resurrection eggs and then hearing the story of
Benjamin, a boy who lived at the time of Jesus death and resurrection. We learned about all of the things that Jesus experienced towards the end of his earthly life. We will be taking a few days off in order to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
