Pre-School Staff

Miss Michelle:  Director

I’m married to Brian, who heads up Monsanto Corn Research in Harrisburg.  We have four children, Katy, Karissa, Amallia and Joshua;  and the Ternus kids are attending a different Brandon Valley building this year!  I grew up in Lincoln NE, and love the HUSKERS!  I graduated from University of NE-Lincoln, with grades 4-12 endorsements in Math and Spanish.  I enjoy being creative with our kids, attending Husker sporting events, cheering on the BVHS Marching Band, reading, and playing on our acreage!  This will be my fifth year at Blessed Redeemer.  I am so thankful God has provided a Christian place for Brandon Valley families to begin their child's educational journey.

Miss Amy :  Teacher

 My family includes my husband, Rob, and our five children.  Megan is a junior at Brandon Valley High School this year, Kate is a 7^th grader at Brandon Valley Middle School and Jake is a 6^th grader there, as well.  Nick is a 2^nd grader at Brandon Elementary, and Emma is a 1^st grader there with him, as well.  The newest member of our family is our 4 month old Miniature Dachshund, Millie, who we all just love!!  I spent many years at home raising our children.  During that time, I was blessed to care for other little ones in our home, as well.  Now that my youngest daughter is in school, I am excited to have the chance to work with little ones at Blessed Redeemer.  My college coursework was in elementary education.  During my time at home with our children I really began to feel that my place was really with early childhood education.  I began to work on the courses I would need to become certified in Early Childhood Special Education and now that my children are all in school, I am happy to be a part of the Blessed Redeemer preschool staff!

I enjoy:   Most of my “free” time is spent enjoying my children’s many activities, such as softball, baseball, soccer, marching band, basketball, track, and more.  Outside of that, I love to read and scrapbook, This will be my second year teaching the three-year-old Tuesday/Thursday morning class.  There are many things that I feel are very special about Blessed Redeemer, but if I am choosing one, it would be the love that is felt when you are a part of the Blessed Redeemer Preschool family.  Four of my children are Blessed Redeemer “graduates” and we have loved every second of being a part of this family.  I am so very happy to now be a part of the staff and have the opportunity to share God’s love with the little ones we are blessed to teach.

Miss Heather :  Teacher

I grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Sioux Falls Lutheran and Roosevelt High School.  I graduated from Dakota State University with Elementary Ed.  I have continued my education with the CuEnet– colloquy
program.  I enjoy reading books, traveling, listening to music and time with my family and friends.  I have been at Blessed
Redeemer for six years and I really enjoy the people.

Miss Kami :  Teacher

I grew up in Kansas and attended high school in
Harrisburg.  I am married to Gregg and we he have two sons Jack (7th grade) and Evan (5th grade).  I attended Augustana College with majors in Elementary Ed and Special Ed.  I have my Masters Degree is Reading Specialist.  I enjoy attending my kid’s activities, walking my dog Bridget, baking and eating cookies. This is my fifth year and I love all the wonderful kids and families I get to know through Blessed Redeemer Preschool.

 Miss Kris :  Educational Assistant

 I grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Marketing from SDSU in Brookings where I met my husband, Matt.  We’ve been married for eighteen years and have lived in Brandon for seven.  I have been a stay at home mom with our children, Emily  and Thomas.  I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and gardening.  I have been at Blessed Redeemer for three years.  My son Thomas attended BRLP for two years.  I enjoyed substituting when he attended and love getting to know the children.

Miss Tracy :  Educational Assistant

I’m brand new to Blessed Redeemer!  My husband Chris and I have three sons:  Jacob, Lucas and Nicholas.  We have Sugar and Lulu, our doggies.  I have worked for legal services in Rapid City and as a guardian ad litem in Florida.  I have taught Sunday School for the past three years at Brandon Lutheran.  For the last decade, I have been a stay at home Mom raising my three active boys.  I graduated from Irondale High School in New Brighton, MN.  I have a BA in paralegal studies from Mc Murry University in Abilene, TX.  I enjoy hiking, reading mysteries, stamping, watching my boys play soccer, basketball and baseball.  I feel so blessed to have he opportunity to be a part of Blessed Redeemer.  When we moved to Brandon eight years ago, I was told that Blessed Redeemer was the best preschool around.  That reputation still stands today.

Miss Lori :  Educational Assistant

My son Nathan and I live in Sioux Falls with our kitty, Shadow.  Nathan is a sophomore at Washington.  I grew up in Brandon and graduated from BVHS.  I received my degree from SDSU in Performing Arts.  Go Jacks! 
I attend Faith Lutheran and have working experience at Head Start, Sioux Falls Lutheran, Faith, A-OK Director, Story Lori and am now the John Harris Kids Inc. site coordinator.  I enjoy scrap booking, photography, genealogy, church choir and spending time with family.  I have been a part of the Blessed Redeemer family going on my second year.  The curriculum is fantastic and studying God’s word is key to educating children's mind, body and spirit.
